Foundation stage (age 5 and 6)

Dalcroze Eurhythmics lesson (45 minutes)

Phase 2 (age 6 and 7 onwards)

•         Individual stringed instrument lesson (20-30 minutes)

•        Group session (30 – 40 minutes)

•        Dalcroze Eurhythmics (40 minutes)

•        Choir (20-25 minutes)

•        Theory lesson (15-20 minutes)

Students are given the opportunity to listen to a demonstration on each of the instruments on offer (violin, viola, cello) before deciding which they would like to learn.   We aim for a balance of instruments within each year group, and we do our very best to accommodate the children’s preferences, although there are occasions when it is sometimes not possible to offer a child lessons in their first choice instrument.

We have a large stock of instruments available for hire at a small cost, but children are welcome to use instruments from elsewhere if they prefer. 

Current fees are:
Foundation stage - £50 per term (Dalcroze Eurythmics only)
Phase 2 - £270 per term.

The intention is that no child should be prevented from taking up a place for financial reasons and bursaries are available upon application.
